Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Cement and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Swancor Holding Co Ltd (TW:3708), which rose 10.00% or 7.10 points to trade at 78.10 at the close. Asia Vital Components Co Ltd (TW:3017) added 10.00% or 3.25 points to end at 35.75 and Shuttle Inc (TW:2405) was up 10.00% or 2.10 points to 23.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airtac International Group (TW:1590), which lost 8.30% or 44.00 points to trade at 486.00 in late trade. Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912) declined 7.51% or 14.50 points to end at 178.50 and Yoko International Corp (TW:6131) shed 7.45% or 1.75 points to 21.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 423 to 338 and 119 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.64% or 0.37 to $57.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.35% or 0.22 to hit $63.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.61 to trade at $1293.79 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.01% to 29.996, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2195.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 92.80.
