Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Cement sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Grand Ocean (TW:5907), which rose 10.00% or 3.45 points to trade at 37.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Htc Corp (TW:2498) added 10.00% or 6.70 points to end at 73.70 and Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025) was up 10.00% or 0.31 points to 3.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were X-Legend (TW:4994), which fell 4.80% or 3.90 points to trade at 77.40 at the close. Hannstar Touch (TW:3049) declined 3.85% or 0.20 points to end at 5.00 and Kinpo (TW:2312) was down 3.74% or 0.40 points to 10.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 516 to 322 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in X-Legend (TW:4994) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.80% or 3.90 to 77.40.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.04% or 0.49 to $47.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.85% or 0.42 to hit $50.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.76% or 8.90 to trade at $1155.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.29% to 32.460, while TWD/CNY rose 0.26% to 0.1960.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.83.
