At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index climbed 0.36%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also increased. The TSX Venture rose 0.90%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.55%.
HudBay Minerals (TSX:HBM): Rose 5.25% or 0.62 points to 12.42.
Ivanhoe Mines (TSX:IVN): Increased 5.26% or 1.01 points to 20.22.
Capstone Mining (TSX:CS): Climbed 4.87% or 0.50 points to 10.76.
Intl Petroleum (TSX:IPCO): Declined 4.18% or 0.73 points to 16.72.
Baytex Energy Corp (TSX:BTE): Dropped 3.92% or 0.160 points to 3.920.
Tamarack Valley (TSX:TVE) Energy: Fell 2.72% or 0.110 points to 3.940.
In Commodities Trading:
- December Brent Oil Contract declined by 3.40% or 2.48 points to 70.42 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for November delivery dropped 2.55 points to 67.14 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery fell 3.30 points to 2,681.40 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD stabilized at 1.84.
- EUR/CAD is trading at 1.50.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 100.567.
