Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Insurance and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which rose 19.97% or 2.750 points to trade at 16.520 at the close. CarrefourSA Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) added 8.61% or 0.65 points to end at 8.20 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) was up 7.69% or 0.050 points to 0.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DO & Co AG (IS:DOCO), which lost 11.51% or 28.60 points to trade at 219.80 in late trade. Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) declined 6.17% or 0.240 points to end at 3.650 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) shed 5.22% or 0.240 points to 4.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 209 to 149 and 50 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.99 to $1295.39 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.51% or 0.71 to hit $47.80 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.02% or 1.03 to trade at $52.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.33% to 3.5151, while EUR/TRY fell 0.17% to 4.1308.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 93.42.
