Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 4.76% or 0.140 points to trade at 3.080 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) added 4.48% or 0.060 points to end at 1.400 and Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) was up 4.44% or 0.120 points to 2.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which lost 3.44% or 0.74 points to trade at 20.76 in late trade. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 2.64% or 0.060 points to end at 2.210 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) shed 2.53% or 1.65 points to 63.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 195 to 138 and 74 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.24% or 3.15 to $1290.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.86% or 0.45 to hit $52.14 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.52 to trade at $61.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.26% to 5.4816, while EUR/TRY rose 1.07% to 6.2908.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 95.215.
