Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance, Basic Metals and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which rose 7.84% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.550 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) added 6.88% or 0.280 points to end at 4.350 and Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) was up 4.12% or 10.60 points to 267.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which lost 4.31% or 0.140 points to trade at 3.110 in late trade. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) declined 4.26% or 0.200 points to end at 4.500 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) shed 3.35% or 0.070 points to 2.020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 226 to 119 and 61 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.75% or 9.51 to $1269.51 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.39% or 0.68 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.92% or 0.99 to trade at $52.48 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.16% to 3.5304, while EUR/TRY rose 0.39% to 4.1492.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 93.22.
