Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.45%, while the ADX General index added 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA), which rose 4.39% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.190 at the close. Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) added 2.64% or 0.140 points to end at 5.450 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 2.49% or 0.022 points to 0.904 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which lost 6.01% or 4.45 points to trade at 69.55 in late trade. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 2.28% or 0.022 points to end at 0.944 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) shed 2.00% or 0.030 points to 1.470.
The top performers on the ADX General were United Arab Bk (AD:UAB) which rose 13.16% to 2.150, Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which was up 5.02% to settle at 2.30 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 3.85% to close at 0.270.
The worst performers were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 5.06% to 0.750 in late trade, Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which lost 1.46% to settle at 1.350 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 1.37% to 0.7200 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 14 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 rose and 7 declined, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.82% or 0.94 to $50.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.62% or 0.92 to hit $55.87 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 8.28 to trade at $1276.52 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.59% to 4.3142.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 93.40.
