Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Goods & Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 1.71% or 8.32 points to trade at 496.00 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 1.26% or 1.62 points to end at 130.54 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 1.14% or 0.250 points to 22.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 4.82% or 1.03 points to trade at 20.32 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) declined 2.01% or 1.770 points to end at 86.290 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 1.98% or 2.97 points to 147.39.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 144 to 104 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.44% or 5.45 to $1253.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.08% or 0.55 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.49 to trade at $54.85 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.25% to 18.7818, while EUR/MXN fell 0.45% to 19.9877.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 100.61.
