Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which rose 0.51% or 0.55 points to trade at 109.25 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.47% or 0.21 points to end at 45.70 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 0.11% or 0.06 points to 52.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 1.49% or 0.68 points to trade at 44.73 in late trade. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) declined 1.05% or 1.10 points to end at 103.30 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 0.86% or 0.315 points to 36.180.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 40 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.48% or 18.55 to $1272.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.21% or 0.11 to hit $52.97 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.23 to trade at $55.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.0612, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8506.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 100.62.
