Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Palm Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were First Capital Holdings PLC (CM:CFVF), which rose 24.70% or 6.20 points to trade at 31.30 at the close. Dunamis Capital PLC (CM:CSEC) added 16.60% or 3.90 points to end at 27.40 and Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) was up 15.08% or 1.90 points to 14.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 22.82% or 280.90 points to trade at 950.00 in late trade. Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) declined 11.76% or 2.00 points to end at 15.00 and Palm Garden Hotels PLC (CM:PALM) shed 10.11% or 3.60 points to 32.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 80 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.05% or 0.47 to $45.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.16% or 0.55 to hit $47.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.75 to trade at $1352.25 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.11% to 193.675, while USD/LKR fell 0.73% to 144.360.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 94.81.
