Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 7.80% or 31.520 points to trade at 435.520 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 3.71% or 0.670 points to end at 18.740 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 3.48% or 0.380 points to 11.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which lost 1.69% or 0.69 points to trade at 40.12 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 0.65% or 1.680 points to end at 255.670 and America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) shed 0.88% or 0.100 points to 11.220.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 113 to 57 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.14% or 1.85 to $1325.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 3.15% or 1.57 to hit $48.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 3.12% or 1.60 to trade at $49.72 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.19% to 18.2673, while EUR/MXN fell 1.40% to 20.2775.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.98.
