Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 0.62% or 0.0340 points to trade at 5.5470 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 0.41% or 0.0700 points to end at 17.2850 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 0.19% or 0.0070 points to 3.7540 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 2.57% or 0.0620 points to trade at 2.3500 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 1.88% or 0.1320 points to end at 6.8930 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 1.62% or 0.235 points to 14.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.18% or 1.04 to $48.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.46% or 1.11 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.33 to trade at $1223.03 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.1417, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8804.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 95.61.
