Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Trading and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) added 20.33% or 12.50 points to end at 74.00 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was up 17.91% or 9.10 points to 59.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL), which lost 15.11% or 3.40 points to trade at 19.10 in late trade. George Steuart Finance Ltd (CM:GEOR) declined 13.66% or 3.10 points to end at 19.60 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) shed 12.71% or 89.00 points to 611.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.43% or 0.97 to $66.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.61% or 0.46 to hit $75.78 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.60 to trade at $1302.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.20% to 209.785, while USD/LKR rose 0.27% to 158.370.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 94.84.
