Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 2.15% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italcementi (MI:ITAI), which fell 0.20% or 0.020 points to trade at 10.230 at the close. Meanwhile, CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) fell 0.60% or 0.040 points to end at 6.620 and Ansaldo STS (MI:STS) was down 0.67% or 0.07 points to 9.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 5.58% or 0.0750 points to trade at 1.2700 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) declined 4.29% or 0.65 points to end at 14.49 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was down 3.67% or 0.2250 points to 5.9000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 341 to 76 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.58% or 0.0750 to 1.2700.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.32% or 0.12 to $37.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.60% or 0.24 to hit $40.48 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.10 to trade at $1073.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.0879, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.7249.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 98.50.
