Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Manufacturing and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 5.55% or 2.49 points to trade at 47.39 at the close. Meanwhile, DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) added 3.83% or 12.50 points to end at 338.50 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 2.49% or 14.00 points to 577.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RDR United Company RUSAL PLC (MCX:RUALR), which fell 1.85% or 5.00 points to trade at 265.00 at the close. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) declined 1.78% or 0.0011 points to end at 0.0606 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) was down 1.69% or 0.605 points to 35.270.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 109 to 101 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.55% or 2.49 to 47.39.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.45% to 37.200.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.97% or 11.30 to $1176.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.58% or 0.27 to hit $46.39 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.13 to trade at $49.56 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.32% to 62.866, while EUR/RUB rose 0.20% to 71.912.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 94.24.
