Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 2.08% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index fell 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 9.80% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.560 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 1.29% or 0.009 points to end at 0.709 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 0.97% or 0.030 points to 3.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which fell 4.29% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.560 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) declined 4.03% or 0.021 points to end at 0.500 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) was down 3.88% or 0.250 points to 6.200.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 6.50% to 2.77, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was up 4.76% to settle at 0.660 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 1.72% to close at 8.85.
The worst performers were Finance House (AD:FH) which was down 7.34% to 2.40 in late trade, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which lost 5.17% to settle at 0.550 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was down 3.73% to 7.22 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 4; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 14 fell and 5 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.29% or 0.070 to 1.560. Shares in Finance House (AD:FH) fell to all time lows; down 7.34% or 0.19 to 2.40.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.73% or 0.34 to $46.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.35% or 0.66 to hit $49.46 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.48% or 5.50 to trade at $1141.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED rose 0.30% to 4.0426.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 96.99.
