Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which rose 20.00% or 2.14 points to trade at 12.84 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) added 20.00% or 0.160 points to end at 0.960 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 19.28% or 0.160 points to 0.990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which lost 4.34% or 0.92 points to trade at 20.30 in late trade. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) declined 3.70% or 0.150 points to end at 3.900 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) shed 3.59% or 0.74 points to 19.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 316 to 45 and 44 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.16% or 15.65 to $1330.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.85% or 1.37 to hit $46.73 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 0.94 to trade at $49.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.04% to 2.9527, while EUR/TRY fell 0.17% to 3.3253.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 94.76.
