Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Services and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.87% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO), which rose 5.61% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.130 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 4.35% or 0.010 points to end at 0.230 and Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN) was up 4.14% or 0.120 points to 3.020 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF), which fell 5.61% or 0.38 points to trade at 6.39 at the close. Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) declined 4.42% or 0.15 points to end at 3.24 and Turk Hava Yollari (IS:THYAO) was down 4.23% or 0.370 points to 8.380.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 269 to 130 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) rose to 5-year lows; rising 4.35% or 0.010 to 0.230. Shares in Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.42% or 0.15 to 3.24.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.00% or 11.20 to $1128.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.01% or 1.73 to hit $41.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.33% or 1.62 to trade at $47.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.25% to 2.9308, while EUR/TRY rose 1.59% to 3.2428.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 96.88.
