Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Sports, Metal Products & Machinery and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 9.09% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 5.12% or 0.11 points to end at 2.26 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was up 3.90% or 0.70 points to 18.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI), which fell 4.00% or 0.17 points to trade at 4.08 at the close. Alkim Kimya (IS:ALKIM) declined 2.27% or 0.30 points to end at 12.90 and AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) was down 2.15% or 0.020 points to 0.910.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 217 to 181 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.00% or 0.17 to 4.08.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.33% or 3.50 to $1078.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.39% or 0.51 to hit $36.25 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 0.70 to trade at $36.52 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.64% to 2.9832, while EUR/TRY fell 0.17% to 3.2048.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.59% at 99.53.
