Investing.com – India equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Power and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.37%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Yes Bank Ltd. (NS:YESB), which rose 2.52% or 29.70 points to trade at 1207.05 at the close. Bharti Infratel Limited (NS:BHRI) added 2.06% or 7.200 points to end at 355.950 and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC) was up 1.42% or 3.60 points to 257.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hero MotoCorp Limited (NS:HROM), which lost 2.74% or 97.65 points to trade at 3466.40 in late trade. Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (NS:APSE) declined 2.19% or 6.05 points to end at 270.10 and Bajaj Auto Limited (NS:BAJA) shed 2.00% or 58.90 points to 2886.95.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which rose 1.48% to 257.75, TATA STEEL LIMITED (BO:TISC) which was up 1.08% to settle at 365.45 and Hindalco Industries Ltd. (BO:HALC) which gained 0.94% to close at 145.35.
The worst performers were Hero MotoCorp Limited (BO:HROM) which was down 2.43% to 3468.10 in late trade, Bajaj Auto Limited (BO:BAJA) which lost 1.96% to settle at 2888.10 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was down 1.59% to 318.90 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 925 to 543 and 66 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1487 fell and 1172 advanced, while 199 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.07% to 14.7800.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.45 to $1317.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.64% or 0.28 to hit $43.58 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.30 to trade at $45.65 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.08% to 67.032, while EUR/INR rose 0.10% to 74.9260.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.85.
