Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alkim Kimya (IS:ALKIM), which rose 7.63% or 0.95 points to trade at 13.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Turk Traktor (IS:TTRAK) added 5.40% or 3.75 points to end at 73.20 and Otokar (IS:OTKAR) was up 4.38% or 3.60 points to 85.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 19.18% or 2.35 points to trade at 9.90 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.240 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was down 3.56% or 0.85 points to 23.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 203 to 198 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.20 to $1090.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.55% or 0.27 to hit $49.06 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.68% or 0.36 to trade at $53.74 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.88% to 2.7897, while EUR/TRY rose 0.28% to 3.0475.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 97.74.
