Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Healthcare and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which rose 24.99% or 449.90 points to trade at 2249.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Lanka Ventures PLC (CM:LVEN) was up 13.74% or 5.80 points to 48.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 20.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.50 at the close. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 19.98% or 499.40 points to end at 2000.00 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was down 16.92% or 385.00 points to 1890.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 104 to 98 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; falling 20.00% or 0.10 to 0.50.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.35% or 0.14 to $41.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.29% or 0.13 to hit $44.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.33% or 3.60 to trade at $1080.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.46% to 217.090, while USD/LKR rose 0.43% to 142.825.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 99.58.
