Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.69%, while the ADX General index fell 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD), which rose 2.50% or 0.150 points to trade at 6.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 2.41% or 0.040 points to end at 1.700 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 1.50% or 0.010 points to 0.675 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA), which fell 3.49% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.49 at the close. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 3.21% or 0.011 points to end at 0.332 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was down 2.78% or 0.010 points to 0.350.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) which rose 15.00% to 4.60, Finance House (AD:FH) which was up 2.56% to settle at 2.00 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 2.22% to close at 0.460.
The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 10.00% to 2.61 in late trade, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which lost 5.63% to settle at 1.51 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was down 4.42% to 6.92 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 5 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 14 fell and 8 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.29 to 2.61.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.25% or 0.71 to $31.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.96% or 0.33 to hit $34.13 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.45% or 16.80 to trade at $1174.30 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.49% to 4.0987.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 96.98.
