Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which rose 3.44% or 3.60 points to trade at 108.20 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 2.59% or 0.52 points to end at 20.56 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) was up 1.74% or 0.09 points to 5.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which lost 2.71% or 0.110 points to trade at 3.950 in late trade. Turkiye Is Bankasi AS C (IS:ISCTR) declined 2.66% or 0.130 points to end at 4.750 and T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) shed 2.65% or 0.24 points to 8.82.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 217 to 109 and 80 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.07% or 0.95 to $1326.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.74% or 0.83 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.64% or 0.82 to trade at $49.33 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.09% to 2.9554, while EUR/TRY fell 0.14% to 3.3036.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.65.
