Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Banking and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar (IS:OTKAR), which rose 3.69% or 5.10 points to trade at 143.30 at the close. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) added 3.54% or 0.040 points to end at 1.170 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) was up 3.46% or 0.26 points to 7.77 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.88% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.390 in late trade. Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) declined 2.81% or 0.050 points to end at 1.730 and Turkcell (IS:TCELL) shed 1.93% or 0.22 points to 11.18.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 259 to 98 and 51 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.95% or 11.75 to $1224.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.86% or 1.00 to hit $52.86 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.03% or 1.15 to trade at $55.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.43% to 3.6818, while EUR/TRY fell 0.72% to 3.9064.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 100.97.
