Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Basic Metals and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS), which rose 3.86% or 0.25 points to trade at 6.72 at the close. Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) added 3.21% or 0.050 points to end at 1.610 and Aksa (IS:AKSA) was up 2.61% or 0.24 points to 9.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pegasus (IS:PGSUS), which lost 7.01% or 1.000 points to trade at 13.270 in late trade. Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO) declined 4.15% or 0.100 points to end at 2.310 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) shed 3.14% or 0.72 points to 22.22.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 262 to 86 and 59 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.33% or 3.80 to $1155.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.95% or 0.51 to hit $54.23 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.50 to trade at $57.32 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.20% to 3.5875, while EUR/TRY rose 0.52% to 3.7258.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.03% at 103.42.
