Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Services, Holding Firms and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Philex Mining (PS:PX), which rose 4.52% or 0.260 points to trade at 6.010 at the close. Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 2.53% or 0.120 points to end at 4.870 and Energy Develop (PS:EDC) was up 0.84% or 0.050 points to 6.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intl Container (PS:ICT), which lost 5.20% or 3.350 points to trade at 61.050 in late trade. Sm Investment (PS:SM) declined 2.99% or 28.000 points to end at 910.000 and Sm Prime Hldgs (PS:SMPH) shed 2.34% or 0.500 points to 20.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 77 and 37 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.58% or 7.30 to $1265.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.29% or 0.10 to hit $34.67 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.03 to trade at $37.10 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.13% to 7.2014, while USD/PHP fell 0.06% to 46.945.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 97.80.
