Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 4.96% or 0.27 points to trade at 5.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 3.14% or 2.26 points to end at 74.20 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 2.32% or 0.76 points to 33.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delhaize Group (BR:DELB), which fell 4.95% or 4.66 points to trade at 89.52 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 2.69% or 2.08 points to end at 75.26 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 2.14% or 2.40 points to 109.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 82 to 64 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was up 1.12% or 12.80 to $1154.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $32.28 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.68% or 0.24 to trade at $34.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.75% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP rose 0.93% to 0.7678.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 96.66.
