Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure, Energy and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 2.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 16.34% or 2.4 points to trade at 16.8 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OL:RCLo) added 8.80% or 61.0 points to end at 754.0 and Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC) was up 8.52% or 3.8 points to 48.1 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA), which fell 1.41% or 3.7 points to trade at 259.2 at the close. Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) declined 0.18% or 0.20 points to end at 111.30 and Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) was up 0.24% or 0.10 points to 42.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 127 to 49 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 5.61% or 1.59 to $29.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 5.81% or 1.62 to hit $29.50 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.05% or 11.60 to trade at $1094.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 1.16% to 9.5544, while USD/NOK fell 0.67% to 8.8181.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 99.39.
