Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Power and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 4.09% or 6400 points to trade at 162700 at the close. Polyus Zoloto OAO (MCX:PLZL) added 1.78% or 79.0 points to end at 4522.0 and Akron (MCX:AKRN) was up 1.67% or 50.0 points to 3045.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which lost 3.29% or 4.45 points to trade at 130.85 in late trade. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 2.61% or 2.270 points to end at 84.750 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) shed 2.40% or 8.20 points to 333.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 135 to 86 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 2.46% to 26.260.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.36% or 4.75 to $1303.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.79% or 0.81 to hit $44.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 0.63 to trade at $46.23 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.31% to 63.7071, while EUR/RUB rose 0.65% to 70.734.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 97.22.
