Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRO), which rose 5.29% or 55 points to trade at 1095 at the close. Meanwhile, ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 4.53% or 2.810 points to end at 64.810 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 3.16% or 20.50 points to 668.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR), which fell 6.79% or 0.2030 points to trade at 2.7870 at the close. VTB (MCX:VTBR) declined 3.76% or 0.0028 points to end at 0.0707 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) was down 2.20% or 56.0 points to 2491.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 127 to 112 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) rose to all time highs; up 3.16% or 20.50 to 668.50.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.10% to 45.860.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.00 to $1125.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.86% or 1.22 to hit $30.40 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.88% or 0.98 to trade at $33.26 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 2.21% to 79.0162, while EUR/RUB rose 2.21% to 85.940.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 98.99.
