Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 3.82% or 1.195 points to trade at 32.510 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 3.20% or 1.680 points to end at 54.220 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 1.43% or 0.55 points to 38.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB (BR:UCB), which lost 1.20% or 0.88 points to trade at 72.62 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.06% or 0.640 points to end at 59.580 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) shed 0.95% or 1.05 points to 109.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 62 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.02% or 13.45 to $1331.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.34% or 1.03 to hit $45.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.70% or 0.78 to trade at $46.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1164, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8604.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 95.74.
