Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.34% or 1.600 points to trade at 70.030 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 2.03% or 0.305 points to end at 15.335 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.62% or 0.46 points to 28.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB (BR:UCB), which lost 1.61% or 1.03 points to trade at 63.11 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.94% or 0.680 points to end at 72.010 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 0.93% or 0.89 points to 94.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 53 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.89% or 11.30 to $1254.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.07% or 0.60 to hit $56.56 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.76 to trade at $61.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1787, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 93.66.
