Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA:GOLL4), which rose 7.17% or 1.09 points to trade at 16.29 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) added 6.65% or 4.20 points to end at 67.40 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) was up 5.95% or 1.62 points to 28.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3), which lost 6.08% or 1.99 points to trade at 30.73 in late trade. Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) declined 3.56% or 1.33 points to end at 36.02 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) shed 3.29% or 0.76 points to 22.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 219 to 200 and 27 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.71% to 26.61.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.63% or 8.30 to $1321.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.34% or 0.24 to hit $71.38 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.72% or 0.86 to trade at $119.58 .
USD/BRL was down 1.15% to 3.5504, while EUR/BRL fell 0.56% to 4.2320.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 92.56.
