Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments & Services, Life Insurance and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 1.68%, while the SZSE Component index lost 1.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Shenzhen Geoway Co Ltd (SS:600462), which rose 10.15% or 0.270 points to trade at 2.930 at the close. DELIXI XINJIANG Transportation Co Ltd (SS:603032) added 10.02% or 2.30 points to end at 25.25 and Besttone Holding Co Ltd (SS:600640) was up 9.97% or 0.930 points to 10.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nanjing Central Emporium Group Stocks Co Ltd (SS:600280), which lost 10.05% or 0.760 points to trade at 6.800 in late trade. SEC Electric Machinery Co Ltd (SS:603988) declined 9.47% or 1.24 points to end at 11.86 and Fujian Anjoy Foods Co Ltd (SS:603345) shed 7.53% or 2.81 points to 34.49.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Beijing Baofeng Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300431) which rose 10.00% to 13.20, Sieyuan Electric Co Ltd (SZ:002028) which was up 9.99% to settle at 15.97 and Yinji Entertainment Media Co Ltd (SZ:002143) which gained 9.97% to close at 3.53.
The worst performers were Shandong Qixing Iron Tower Co Ltd (SZ:002359) which was down 10.01% to 14.83 in late trade, Yangzhou Yangjie Electronic Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300373) which lost 10.01% to settle at 23.46 and Chenzhou Jingui Silver Industry Co Ltd (SZ:002716) which was down 8.08% to 6.60 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1238 to 174 and 34 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 23.69.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1198.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.04% or 0.73 to hit $69.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.56 to trade at $77.61 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.05% to 6.8414, while EUR/CNY fell 0.30% to 7.9033.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 95.56.
