Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Support Services, Construction & Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 1.52% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 0.90% or 0.69 points to end at 77.55 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) was up 0.80% or 0.32 points to 39.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OCI (AS:OCI), which fell 4.16% or 0.715 points to trade at 16.485 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) declined 2.29% or 0.250 points to end at 10.645 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was down 1.90% or 0.100 points to 5.150.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 86 to 58 and 38 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.79% to 28.20.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 4.78% or 1.54 to $30.65 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 3.55% or 1.17 to hit $31.68 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.93% or 10.20 to trade at $1106.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.0824, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.7598.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 99.50.
