Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY), which rose 1.16% or 0.43 points to trade at 37.36 at the close. Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 1.07% or 1.20 points to end at 113.20 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 1.03% or 1.95 points to 190.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sodexo (PA:EXHO), which lost 1.49% or 1.40 points to trade at 92.78 in late trade. Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) declined 1.11% or 0.17 points to end at 15.61 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) shed 0.95% or 0.38 points to 39.61.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Thales (PA:TCFP) which rose 3.36% to 121.60, Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which was up 2.29% to settle at 29.460 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech (PA:STDM) which gained 2.23% to close at 110.00.
The worst performers were Ingenico Group (PA:INGC) which was down 6.05% to 61.48 in late trade, Casino Guichard (PA:CASP) which lost 4.52% to settle at 31.03 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which was down 3.39% to 53.04 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 285 to 266 and 125 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.60% to 12.66.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.10 to $1211.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.98% or 0.67 to hit $69.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.73 to trade at $77.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1698, while EUR/GBP fell 0.90% to 0.9004.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.56.
