Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Construction and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 9.97% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.772 at the close. Ellaktor (AT:HELr) added 8.00% or 0.100 points to end at 1.350 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 7.96% or 0.32 points to 4.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Korres (AT:KRRr), which lost 4.48% or 0.15 points to trade at 3.20 in late trade. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) declined 3.14% or 0.11 points to end at 3.39 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) shed 3.07% or 0.210 points to 6.640.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 34 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.24% or 2.95 to $1243.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.23% or 0.95 to hit $43.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.23% or 0.99 to trade at $45.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7750.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 94.41.
