Investing.com – Israel equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Communication sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 lost 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 25 were Melisron (TA:MLSR), which rose 1.75% or 230 points to trade at 13410 at the close. Perrigo (TA:PRGO) added 1.55% or 750 points to end at 49070 and Israel Corp (TA:ILCO) was up 1.37% or 860 points to 63790 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which lost 6.34% or 260 points to trade at 3840 in late trade. Leumi (TA:LUMI) declined 0.66% or 9 points to end at 1356 and International (TA:FTIN) shed 0.66% or 31 points to 4659.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 209 to 154 and 89 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.95% or 1.13 to $39.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.81% or 1.12 to hit $40.97 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.30 to trade at $1235.20 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.62% to 3.7810, while EUR/ILS fell 0.07% to 4.2932.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.56% at 94.64.
