Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 2.61% or 1.350 points to trade at 53.060 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 2.25% or 14.41 points to end at 656.11 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was up 1.90% or 0.47 points to 25.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which lost 3.07% or 2.75 points to trade at 86.82 in late trade. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) declined 3.04% or 4.25 points to end at 135.41 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) shed 2.43% or 0.580 points to 23.310.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 181 to 95 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.03% or 0.37 to $1227.27 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.58% or 0.27 to hit $46.49 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.32 to trade at $49.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.09% to 19.2082, while EUR/MXN rose 0.44% to 20.9870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 99.01.
