Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 3.25% or 1.850 points to trade at 58.850 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) added 2.13% or 0.290 points to end at 13.890 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 1.47% or 0.41 points to 28.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which lost 3.49% or 3.760 points to trade at 104.090 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.85% or 21.23 points to end at 722.79 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 2.12% or 0.480 points to 22.160.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 136 to 78 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.34% or 17.00 to $1249.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.18% or 0.66 to hit $56.62 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $62.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.12% to 18.9467, while EUR/MXN fell 0.10% to 22.3102.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 93.75.
