Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 2.69% or 0.700 points to trade at 26.695 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 1.85% or 0.27 points to end at 14.86 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) was up 1.77% or 3.18 points to 183.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 2.91% or 18.07 points to trade at 603.94 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 2.02% or 0.460 points to end at 22.320 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 1.18% or 0.165 points to 13.795.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 200 to 129 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.71% or 9.40 to $1325.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.29% or 0.17 to hit $59.37 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.08 to trade at $62.65 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 18.6127, while EUR/MXN rose 0.01% to 22.8764.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 90.01.
