Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which rose 3.99% or 3.290 points to trade at 85.650 at the close. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) added 2.50% or 1.86 points to end at 76.24 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 2.10% or 0.780 points to 37.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which lost 0.68% or 0.390 points to trade at 57.150 in late trade. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 0.57% or 1.41 points to end at 244.92 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) shed 0.53% or 0.64 points to 120.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 67 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.37% or 4.60 to $1258.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $74.33 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.41 to trade at $78.17 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.12% to 19.4397, while EUR/MXN fell 0.16% to 22.6578.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 94.19.
