Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.86% to hit a new 1-month high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 7.84% or 0.84 points to trade at 11.55 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 4.23% or 4.400 points to end at 108.400 and BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX:RA) was up 3.51% or 3.82 points to 112.80 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which lost 1.85% or 0.560 points to trade at 29.690 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 1.78% or 6.16 points to end at 340.83 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) shed 1.27% or 0.870 points to 67.380.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 176 to 121 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.23% or 2.90 to $1255.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.37% or 1.00 to hit $73.94 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.31 to trade at $77.08 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 1.07% to 19.0059, while EUR/MXN fell 0.64% to 22.3266.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 93.75.
