Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 6.19% or 3.840 points to trade at 65.840 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 4.11% or 0.640 points to end at 16.210 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was up 3.55% or 2.020 points to 58.980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 0.63% or 0.200 points to trade at 31.750 in late trade. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) declined 0.56% or 0.480 points to end at 85.110 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) shed 0.54% or 0.150 points to 27.770.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 161 to 106 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1303.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.55% or 0.36 to hit $65.59 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.94 to trade at $76.38 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.97% to 20.2777, while EUR/MXN fell 1.22% to 23.8689.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.53.
