Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 1.34% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which rose 6.40% or 1.740 points to trade at 28.990 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 5.32% or 17.98 points to end at 355.69 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 4.28% or 1.590 points to 38.710 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB), which lost 1.81% or 3.40 points to trade at 184.30 in late trade. Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) declined 0.63% or 0.180 points to end at 28.620 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) shed 0.59% or 0.06 points to 10.12.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 246 to 110 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.26% or 3.30 to $1254.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.18% or 0.87 to hit $74.32 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 1.52 to trade at $79.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.88% to 19.8922, while EUR/MXN rose 1.93% to 23.2425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.83% at 94.21.
