Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL), which rose 2.22% or 0.350 points to trade at 16.120 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) added 1.34% or 0.480 points to end at 36.260 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 0.91% or 7.22 points to 799.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 3.22% or 0.990 points to trade at 29.780 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.87% or 1.670 points to end at 56.590 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 2.80% or 0.480 points to 16.690.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 217 to 52 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.93% or 11.87 to $1291.17 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.18% or 1.08 to hit $48.48 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.65% or 0.87 to trade at $51.83 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.18% to 17.9776, while EUR/MXN rose 0.33% to 21.1704.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.28.
