Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which rose 2.10% or 0.650 points to trade at 31.800 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 1.95% or 6.03 points to end at 316.00 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was up 1.00% or 0.580 points to 58.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB), which lost 2.39% or 4.31 points to trade at 176.30 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.31% or 16.48 points to end at 697.26 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) shed 1.21% or 4.08 points to 332.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 152 to 130 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.40 to $1223.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.64% or 1.85 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.17% or 1.64 to trade at $73.91 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.52% to 18.6362, while EUR/MXN rose 0.43% to 21.7955.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 94.30.
