Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Materials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 3.56% or 7.82 points to trade at 227.50 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 3.09% or 16.94 points to end at 564.94 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was up 2.14% or 0.530 points to 25.310 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 3.11% or 0.51 points to trade at 15.91 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 2.67% or 0.600 points to end at 21.900 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) shed 2.27% or 1.000 points to 43.080.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 169 to 105 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.42% or 18.50 to $1323.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.79% or 0.48 to hit $61.47 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.72 to trade at $64.55 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.16% to 18.8201, while EUR/MXN rose 0.31% to 23.1909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 89.95.
