Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.13% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 4.35% or 2.900 points to trade at 69.580 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 2.75% or 0.610 points to end at 22.780 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 2.67% or 4.96 points to 190.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 3.12% or 20.06 points to trade at 622.01 in late trade. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 2.93% or 0.44 points to end at 14.59 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) shed 2.66% or 3.05 points to 111.76.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 195 to 100 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1318.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.42% or 2.09 to hit $59.06 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.38% or 2.19 to trade at $62.62 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.97% to 18.7097, while EUR/MXN fell 1.00% to 22.9121.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 90.22.
